E Division is a division in the Back Office that is responsible for all engineering-related matters in Golly. E Division coordinates research efforts ranging from theoretical to applied, and integrates the findings with map, season, and rule designers to optimize Golly matches for entertainment value.

E Division is also responsible for curating adn expanding scientific knowledge about cellular automata.
