The Cloud Crown is a rivalry between two Peninsula Expansion League teams, the 
Sand City Sidewinders
and the 
Aptos Investigators
. Matches between the two rival teams are held on the beach at sunset, by tradition. Games routinely carry on late into the night, and on several occasions, players for the Sidewinders or Investigators have been swept out to sea.
