The initial postseason meeting of the Carmel Yacht Club and Aptos Investigators in Pseudo/Season 6/Postseason, which resulted in a stunning defeat of the Yacht Club by the Investigators, a series of lawsuits, and the formation of the Private Eye Crown, was only the first of four Elite Eight meetings between the two teams. In each of the four meetings, the Aptos Investigators defeated the Carmel Yacht Club . Four postseason series wins in four postseason series gave the Investigators the moral high ground in the rivalry. At the end of the Pseudo Cup, the Aptos Investigators formed a shell company called Aptos Investigators Owned The Carmel Yacht Club LLC and were corporate sponsors of the Carmel Yacht Club charity golf tournament, so that every poster, program, billboard, flyer, and advertisement about the golf tournament contained text at the end saying "Aptos Investigators Owned The Carmel Yacht Club."
