Both the SJA.png San Jose Avionics and SCB.png Santa Cruz Bananas had been dubbed the Choke Artists of the Peninsula League, in reference to being the only teams who had never been to a Pseudo Cup (except the Seaside Swashbucklers, who were incinerated). The SJA.png San Jose Avionics were known as the San Francisco Bay Choke Artists, and the SCB.png Santa Cruz Bananas were known as the Monterey Bay Choke Artists.

During the Season 7 postseason, both Choke Artists made it to the League Championship Series, and both were playing for the pennant. Fans, pundits, commentators, analysts, and historians all expected a Double Choke - meaning the two Choke Artists would both choke in the penultimate series, and fail to clinch the pennant. However, the Avionics and Bananas shocked the world with a Double Unchoke - both Choke Artists clinched the pennant, and both Choke Artists headed to their first-ever Cup appearance.

The SJA.png San Jose Avionics prevailed in a dramatic seven-game series.
