cemented their legend in the Hellmouth Cup, the Toroidal Cup was a different beast entirely — the Cup introduced a new periodic grid, causing patterns to wrap around the edges and back onto the other side of the grid. This proved to be profoundly problematic for the Boat Shoes, whose winning strategies did not translate to periodic grids. The Boat Shoes did not make history during the Toroidal Cup, far from it - they provided a cautionary tale of hubris, and showed that no Dynasty could last forever.
