The San Francisco Boat Shoes (The Shoes) are a Golly team from San Francisco, California, and are one of the original 16 Golly teams.

The Boat Shoes hold a number of Golly and Hellmouth Cup records and have accomplished many firsts, including:

Common knowledge was that being a successful Golly team required brute force and demonic pacts, but the Boat Shoes relied on agility, precision, and an almost supernatural ability to navigate the chaotic arenas of the Hellmouth Cup. They reached the Hellmouth Cup series in their first year, and while they lost it to the Long Beach Flightless Birds (Surf and Turf Crown), and lost the championship series to the Sacramento Boot Lickers (Cali Crown) the next year, they began to win championships starting in Season 3 and didn't look back.

The early success of the Boat Shoes created a strong base of skeptics, detractors, and anti-fans who cheer at the team's every misfortune. The Boat Shoes use this as validation, and it inflates their already outsized egos. The Boat Shoes consider themselves to be in a rivalry with the entire rest of the league.
