Klein/Season 1 began with what many thought was domestic drama but ended up being a simple misunderstanding. The MILF.png Milwaukee Flamingos , battling their way through the Hot League, and the TB.png Tucson Butchers , mowing through Cold League opposition, finally reached the Klein Cup series in a spousal matchup. But things quickly got ugly. The Flamingos' grueling 7-game victory over the perpetually jealous DET.png Detroit Grape Chews just looked like an appetizer to the real Milwaukee-Tucson fireworks. Things got heated, to the point of making everyone else in the league uncomfortable, with the Butchers living up to their ferocious, unyielding reputation. In a humiliating 4-1 series loss, the Butchers dismembered the Flamingos in a shocking and unexpected conclusion to what everyone anticipated would be a long and sensuous 7-game series. Gamblers everywhere, betting on riding all 7 games to a Milwaukee victory, were stunnned.

While there were rumors of a "cosmic rough patch" between the Butchers and Flamingos, further follow-up investigation revealed that the Butchers had simply forgotten the safe word that they had agreed upon with the Flamingos in advance, leading to the Butchers' messy, premature victory at the Flamingos' expense. This confirmed that the integrity of the Midwest Love Triangle had remained intact.
