The DET.png Detroit Grape Chews earned the moniker of Hot League Choke Artists in the Hellmouth Cup.

In the first few seasons of the Hellmouth Cup, the Grape Chews were known as the Big Purple Machine, making consistent postseason appearances and overpowering opponents. But starting with early stumbles against the SFBS.png San Francisco Boat Shoes and AA.png Alewife Arsonists , and multiple League Championship and Game 7 losses, the Chews had solidified their reputation as the Hot League Choke Artists.
