The Pacific Grove Monarchists are a Golly team from Pacific Grove, California.

Team Character

The Pacific Grove Monarchists spend much of their free time volunteering for the City of Pacific Grove. City Ordinance Number 352 makes it illegal to kill or to threaten a butterfly, punishable by a $1,000 fine, so the Monarchists will help the City to make extra cash by cruising the town looking for people threatening butterflies.

The City has received numerous complaints over the years from innocent residents who have been hassled by the Monarchists for "allegedly" threatening butterflies, leading many to call the arrangement for what it is: a butterfly protection racket run by a sinister cabal of city council members. The City has even gone so far as to set aside special "zones" throughout the city that are exclusively controlled by the butterflies.

• In Pseudo/Season 24 the Pacific Grove Monarchists were the #3 seed in the Monterey Bay League. They defeated the Aptos Investigators 3-2 in the Monterey Bay League Egalitarian Eight. They clinched the pennant by defeating the Davenport Cliff Divers 3-1 in the Monterey Bay League Fortuitous Four. They became Pseudo Cup champions by defeating the Mountain View Miners 4-2.
