The
Richmond Slicks
are a Golly team from Richmond, California. They are peculiarly unlucky, with most of their wins coming about through double-reversals of fortune. The Slicks are accident-prone and generally unlucky. Their unluck has a known effective radius of 30 feet. Major postseason victories by the Slicks are usually accompanied by major PR disasters.
In the Dragon Cup, the Slicks became masters of the backdoor victory - squeaking through with 3 close wins and taking the series despite being outscored, outclassed, and outgunned by their opponents.
In Dragon/Season 14, Dragon/Season 15, and Dragon/Season 16, the
Richmond Slicks
made history, appearing in back-to-back-to-back Dragon Cup series - the first team ever to appear in three straight Cup series in any Cup ever. In each of the three Dragon Cup series appearances, the Slicks set or nearly set a new record for least number of points scored in a Dragon Cup Series, by any team, win or lose.

Team Character
The
Richmond Slicks
are considered one of the most clumsy, ham-handed, and slapstick teams in Golly. The Slicks attract many potential fans who believe the Slicks are, well, slick - polished professionals who consistently win - when in fact the Slicks are anything but. The Slicks attract a smaller segment of fans who are drawn to their peculiar brand of losing, winning by accident, well-oiled slapstick comedy routines, and extremely technical chemical engineering.
Richmond
Richmond natives are well aware that the team's name, the Slicks, was a jab by the Commissioner intended to mock their darling team of cute-but-confused slapstick clumsy-dumplings. As a result, the town of Richmond is a known hotbed of anti-Commissioner sentiment, and has become the de-facto Anti-Capital of Golly.

Dragon Season 10 - Miracle Slicks
The Miracle Slicks is the nickname applied to the Dragon/Season 10
Richmond Slicks
, who captured the franchise's first-ever championship title, and whose performance in Dragon/Season 10/Postseason is considered the most clutch single-season postseason performance by any team in Golly history. The Slicks, despite a disappointing season, managed to squeak into the postseason as the #4 seed. In the postseason, they continued to have underwhelming run production, but they somehow still managed to advance, winning many of their games by razor-thin margins, in defiance of the Big Runs strategy espoused by most Dragon Cup teams.
The Slicks faced the
Freedom Fries
in the Dragon Cup final, and again relied on their wits and their strategies, winning three of their four games by small margins. By the time the Slicks won the championship in Game 5, they had scored the least number of runs of any team that had ever appeared in a Dragon Cup, win or lose (see Records/Points#Least Points in a Dragon Cup Series). The unlikely series of events leading to the Slicks making it to the postseason, and their clutch performances in narrow games, led to their nickname, The Miracle Slicks.
It is widely agreed that the Miracle Slicks, with their unique penchant for dramatic situations, high pressure, and clutch postseason wins, fundamentally and forever changed the way the splort of Golly was played and enjoyed.
