The Season 2 Laboratory Fire was a fire that occurred at the Hellmouth Community College Research Annex at the beginning of the Season 2 postseason.
On Day 50, Game 1 of the Season 2 League Division Series was set to begin at 9:00 AM PST. Soon after the start time, fans were reporting that Golly grids were completely empty, and there were no players or umpires anywhere. Some fans reported seeing "NaN" covering every scoreboard.
Meanwhile, at the Research Annex, an intern discovered smoke coming from a stall during a routine check of the computational machines. The blaze consumed nearly half of the computational warehouse. E Division sprang into action, working with the Hellmouth Community College Fire Department to get the fire put out and the remaining machines powered up and back online.
