The Season 3 Laboratory Fire was a fire that occurred in the Hellmouth Community College Research Annex during the Season 3 postseason. It led to the temporary disappearance of several Hellmouth Cup matches from the https://golly.life website, fueling rumors of a controversy and playing a key part in the Season 3 Fixing Scandal.

The full extent of the damage done by the fire is unknown; there was some speculation among bystanders that a warehouse that caught fire was storing boxes of punchards, on which the results of games are stored. However, normal operations were restored quickly enough to alleviate major concerns. Because the event occurred early in the history of Golly, the divisions that would normally be responsible for preventing such accidents - A Division (auditing) and S Division (security/safety/secrets/etc.) - did not yet exist.
