The Season 2 Laboratory Fire was a fire that occurred in the Metablaseball Research Lab at the beginning of the Season 2 postseason.

On Day 50, Game 1 of the Division Series was set to begin at 9:00 AM PST. Soon after the start time, fans were reporting that Golly grids were completely empty, and there were no players or umpires anywhere. Some fans reported seeing "NaN" covering every scoreboard.

Meanwhile, at the Metablaseball Research Laboratory, an intern discovered smoke coming from a stall during a routine check of the clomputational machines. The Golly Back Office worked with the Hellmouth Community College Fire Department to get the fire put out, then powered up the backup clomputational machines.

The power was restored during Game 2. Some clomputational machines were harmed by the laboratory fire but they went to the clomputational machine hospital to recover for a while and they are all fine now.
