Taste of Texas Series Rematch
With the Toroidal/Season 15 series being referred to as the "Taste of Texas Series," the rematch was very creatively referred to as the "Taste of Texas Series Rematch."
Once the series was over and the
Sacramento Boot Lickers
had been declared the champions, it became known as the "Taste of Texas Revenge Reversal."
Ft. Worth Piano Tuners Hacking Scandal
Main: Piano Tuners Hacking Scandal
During the Toroidal/Season 16 postseason, leaked documents revealed that the Ft. Worth Piano Tuners had been procuring backdoored random number generators to Golly's E Division (Engineering division responsible for all Golly simulations), with the help of shell companies provided by
Delaware Corporate Shells
. This had enabled the Piano Tuners to manipulate the outcome of both Toroidal/Season 15, in which the Piano Tuners emerged as champions by defeating the Boot Lickers, and Season 16.
The scandal caused a personality change in the
Sacramento Boot Lickers
, who were much more nasty and ruthless toward opponents following their Toroidal/Season 15 loss to the Piano Tuners. When news of the hacking scandal broke, the Boot Lickers resolved to reach the Toroidal Cup by any means necessary, setting out on a bloody path for revenge against the Piano Tuners.
The Commissioner's Office ordered E Division to deploy patched random number generators in time for the Toroidal Cup series, allowing E Division to simulate matches without relying on the Piano Tuners' backdoored random number generators.
The
Ft. Worth Piano Tuners
were nearly eviscerated by the eventual champions, the
Sacramento Boot Lickers
.
