- In one of the biggest surprises of the season, the
Milwaukee Flamingos
managed to turn things around in a hurry - on Day 30, the Flamingos were at the bottom of the league. But the offense turned up the heat as the season progressed, and the Flamingos, who would eventually win the championship, barely squeaked through the season and into the playoffs.
- The
Long Beach Flightless Birds
had a string of high-margin victories mid-season, putting them in front in Cold Fire and securing them the Cold League's #1 seed spot
