Creating Infoboxes and Navboxes

The process for creating an infobox:

  • before you begin: map out the information that will go into the infobox
  • top level categories become headers
  • secondary level key-value pairs become labels/data
  • when you're ready to make the template, copy the contents of an existing template that uses {{Infobox}}, like {{Infobox team}}
  • start with two pieces: the includeonly piece (calling the {{Infobox}} template) and the noinclude piece (which gives an example)
  • it's helpful to do this step in a text editor, so you can edit the example and the Infobox template it calls at the same time

Bracket Templates

We have {{8TeamBracket}} (lines are broken, but that's a separate issue)

We need {{8TeamRainbowBracket}} (based on 4 team bracket, but adding 2 teams per round)

Done. Also managed to fix the lines issue in {{8TeamBracket}}.

Fix procedure:

  • Set border color to red for the cell whose border is messed up, see that it is collapsing halfway through (where the border disappears)
  • Fixed it by setting border=0 and finding where the cells didn't extend far enough to the right
  • Had to add some empty cells with a specified colspan, right up until the empty cell whose border is supposed to form the connecting line
  • Voila, took a couple of tries but now it's finished and fixed and looking good!

  • The Miracle Slicks is the nickname applied to the Dragon/Season 10 RS.png Richmond Slicks , who captured the franchise's first-ever championship title, and whose performance in Dragon/Season 10/Postseason is considered the most clutch single-season postseason performance by any team in Golly history. The Slicks, despite a disappointing season, managed to squeak into the postseason as the #4 seed. In the postseason, they continued to have underwhelming run production, but they somehow still managed to advance, winning many of their games by razor-thin margins, in defiance of the Big Runs strategy espoused by most Dragon Cup teams.

The Slicks faced the FFR.png Freedom Fries in the Dragon Cup final, and again relied on their wits and their strategies, winning three of their four games by small margins. By the time the Slicks won the championship in Game 5, they had scored the least number of runs of any team that had ever appeared in a Dragon Cup, win or lose (see Records/Points#Least Points in a Dragon Cup Series). The unlikely series of events leading to the Slicks making it to the postseason, and their clutch performances in narrow games, led to their nickname, The Miracle Slicks.

It is widely agreed that the Miracle Slicks, with their unique penchant for dramatic situations, high pressure, and clutch postseason wins, fundamentally and forever changed the way the splort of Golly was played and enjoyed.
