The Flightless Birds have been in the Golly league since Season 1.

• In Season 1 the Long Beach Flightless Birds were the #1 seed in the Cold League. They went on to win the first ever Hellmouth Cup against the San Francisco Boat Shoes.
• In Season 2 the Long Beach Flightless Birds did not make the playoffs.
• In Season 3 the Long Beach Flightless Birds were the #2 seed in the Cold League. They were knocked out in the Division Series by the Elko Astronauts.
• In Season 4 the Long Beach Flightless Birds were the #4 seed in the Cold League. They won the Cold League pennant, but lost to the Sacramento Boot Lickers in the Hellmouth Cup.
• In Season 5 the Long Beach Flightless Birds did not make the playoffs.
• In Season 6 the Long Beach Flightless Birds did not make the playoffs.
• In Season 7 the Long Beach Flightless Birds were the #2 seed in the Cold League. They won the Cold League pennant, but lost to the Delaware Corporate Shells in the Hellmouth Cup.
• In Season 8 the Long Beach Flightless Birds did not make the playoffs.
• In Season 9 the Long Beach Flightless Birds were the #1 seed in the Cold League, but were knocked out in the Cold League Championship Series by the Tucson Butchers.
• In Season 10 the Long Beach Flightless Birds were the #1 seed in the Cold League, but were knocked out in the Cold League Championship Series by the Tucson Butchers (again). This led to the creation of a rivalry and the Salton Sea Crown.
• In Season 11 the Long Beach Flightless Birds did not make the playoffs.

Salton Sea Crown and Rivalry with Tucson Butchers

During Season 10, when the Birds met the Tucson Butchers in the Cold League championship for the third time, the two teams agreed to start a rivalry, which they named the Salton Sea Crown. The two teams meet annually at the Salton Sea, which is the most significant landmark between Long Beach and Tucson that could be agreed upon, for an awards ceremony and festivities.
