The Albuquerque Solarpunks are a Golly team from Albuquerque, New Mexico. They joined the league in Season 16 of the Hellmouth Cup.

Team Character

The Solarpunks are deeply committed idealists. They continually challenge the status quo and have a long history of anti-establishmentarianism. Skeptical to a fault, the Solarpunks also have deep expertise in political theory, systems of government, and the psychology of politics, which they can discuss at great lengths in order to fill dead air or hypnotize bystanders who happen to be listening.

Solarpunks in the Hellmouth Cup

The Solarpunks joined the Golly league during the Season 16 expansion of the Hellmouth Cup. They joined the league together with the Salt Lake Turbulence , Sugar Grove Eavesdroppers , and Phoenix Freshrolls .

The Solarpunks joined the Boot Lickers, Business Majors, Arsonists, and Boogers in the Hot Water division.

Flamepunk Crown

Being in the same division as the Alewife Arsonists , the Solarpunks were quick to speak out against the Arsonists' use of fossil fuels to start fires, seeing it as unnecessary and even going so far as to call it a "crutch." This initially led to a tense rivalry between the Solarpunks and the Arsonists, nicknamed the Flamepunk Crown. However, the two teams soon began to collaborate on alternative firestarting methods, and the rivalry developed into an anti-rivalry.

Solarpunks in the Toroidal Cup

First Expansion Team Dynasty

In Toroidal/Season 23 the Solarpunks established a Flawless Dynasty, and became the first-ever expansion team to establish a Dynasty.

The Solarpunks beat the San Diego Balloon Animals twice and the Tucson Butchers once.

• In Season 18 the Solarpunks were the #4 seed in the Hot League. They were knocked out in the Hot League Division Series by the San Francisco Boat Shoes .
• In Season 20 the Solarpunks were the #1 seed in the Hot League. They were knocked out in the Hot League Championship Series by the San Francisco Boat Shoes .
